The 46th Annual Minnesota Renaissance Festival, one of the largest themed events in the country, is just around the corner. Journey back in time as more than 250 merchants contribute to the atmosphere of this charming 16th century village featuring 22 acres of entertainment, shopping, fun, and food fit for a king!

2016 Highlights: 
The King’s Karpool – Gather your friends and decorate your car! Once your car is decorated, post a photo of it across social media and drive it to the festival! Best decorated cars win prizes! 
Mural Competition – Show off your artistic skills by painting and submitting a unique Renaissance-themed mural for the chance to win $250!
Pig N’ Swig – Indulge in two of your favorite things! Sample four beer and bacon pairings while socializing with friends and entertainers.  Must be 21+ with valid ID.
Fairytale Princess Party – You are cordially invited to attend our Fairytale Princess Party. Come and mingle with the Princess Court who will be hosting the party. Enjoy a light snack, craft, and entertainment with a photo opt. at the end.
Renaissance Romance – Enjoy a private one hour rendezvous in a unique garden setting with your loved one while sipping wine and nibbling on light snacks. Package includes two admission tickets into the festival, a private server, a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, a light snack and musical entertainment for one hour. Must be 21+ with valid ID.
Castle Escape – Clocks, locks & secret passages! You and your team of squires are trapped in a fully themed castle room and you only have 20 minutes to work together to figure out how to escape!
Fairy House Competition – All patrons big and small are invited to make your own unique fairy house and share it during our Silk Road Weekend on August 20 & 21.  Prizes include a one-night stay at the Radisson Mall of America with four all day passes to the waterpark. The first 50 children to register will receive a half day pass to the Water Park of America.
Cupcake Battle – Grab your apron and mixing bowl to whip up your best cupcake recipe for a chance to win great prizes and bragging rights of the best cupcake in the Realm!
Mermaid Cove – Watch as they dive, twirl, and swim majestically through the water. If you are lucky, they may share a piece of their magic with you!
Fantasy Mask Competition – Get creative with paint, beads, feathers, latex, and clay to create a unique mask. After you’ve created your masterpiece, be prepared to model it for prizes!
Kid’s Craft Corner – Enjoy arts and crafts activities with your kids in the fun craft area at the Festival. Crafts include pirate hat making, fairy wand making, coloring contests and much more!
Princess Garden – Immerse yourself in this enchanting garden experience where kids will have a chance to try on costumes and tiaras, learn courtly etiquette, listen to stories, and even take pictures with the Princess Court!
Sherwood Forest – Venture into our new, fully immersive family experience through its hidden entrance. The lush beauty and secrets of the Forest will be connected to our Fairy Wing Forest to create a truly mystical world you can disappear into! Sherwood Forest will also feature the SkyVault Theatre Company, a multi-talented group of individuals who will be showcasing their fun and interactive performing style!
The Little Glass Slipper – Bring all of the princesses you know to this new fairytale land. Zezolla, the original Cinderella, will be in her garden wearing the gown and the slipper the Prince gave to her. See the sparkling glass slipper for yourself and meet Zezolla in person! 
Living History Tour – Travel throughout the Festival and experience all of its history over the past 45 years!

Gates open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. - rain or shine!

Admission at the gate: adults $23.95; children 5-12 $14.95; seniors $21.95; four and under are 
free! Parking is Free. Discount tickets are available at participating Menards, Super America, Whole Foods and Walgreens. Coupons towards admission are available at participating Subway and Papa Murphy’s locations.
