In our community, big dreams often come in small packages, and local kids are proving that age is no barrier to success! From young entrepreneurs running their own business to creative minds turning passion into profit, these inspiring kids are making a difference with their hard work, innovation, and determination. Whether they are selling handmade goods, launching online ventures, or offering services that bring value to their neighborhoods, these young people are showing us all what's possible when creativity and ambition meet. I recently met a few of our very own incredible, local kids at the Andover Craft Show and couldn't help but spend some time with them to hear their story so that I can share it with you.
Meet Kacie, a 10-year-old from Andover who started her own crochet business, Kacie's Kreations. Nearly 2 years ago, out of the blue, Kacie decided she wanted to learn how to crochet. With the support of her mom and her Nana, they all went to a local yarn store to learn together. From that day forward, Kacie has been trying her hand at making new things and leaning into her creativity. And now she has made a business from her passion, allowing her to learn and grow in more ways than one can imagine.
Kacie's Kreations has a variety of blankets, cowls, lovey blankets, ear-warmer/ headbands, Cup Cozy's, baby hats, and her favorite to make lovey animals - all at Kacie's Kreations. Check out her amazing hand-made gifts and then reach out to get it in time for Christmas. She's even open to considering custom orders, just reach out to her via email at kacieskreations2014@gmail.com.
Kacie's love of crocheting has given her the opportunity to get outside of her comfort zone as she shares her talents with the community. As I looked over all the fabulous item's she has made herself, I found myself in awe of the talent this 10-year-old has at such a young age. The ambition to learn something new, the drive and commitment to share it with others and put herself out there to showcase her skills and the willingness to share her story with other kids and adults. When asked what her advice is for other kids who may want to have their own business she said, "They should make sure it's something you enjoy doing and just go for it!"
